Product Highlight: Facts about Coral Fleece

Another new product included in our May 2024 release is coral fleece. Coral fleece differs from polar fleece in a few ways - to start with, it's softer and furrier. But there's more than that, and we hope this article helps you to be able to choose the best fabric to make your next project just perfect!

What is coral fleece, and how is it different from polar fleece?

Made of 100% polyester with a weight of 230gsm, coral fleece is thicker and has a higher pile than polar fleece. The edges of coral fleece fabric tend to shed due to its fluffiness, and can have more stretch than most polar fleeces. Because of this, it is necessary to finish the edges of the fabric.

Both sides of coral fleece are soft, but one side has slightly higher pile - this is the right side of the fabric. Unlike some polar fleece, coral fleece is anti-pill; however, never use fabric softener when washing it, or the fabric will lose its soft fluffy texture.

How can you use coral fleece?

Because coral fleece is soft, fluffy and a good insulator, it is perfect for making jackets, dressing gowns, baby items, cushions and blankets.
