Willow Ranch has appeared on two different occasions at the Agnes Water Handmade Markets. The first one was a twilight market, on the 21st December, and the second one was a morning one on the 28th December.
Twilight Market on 21st December, 2024
We shared this stall with a friend, so our stall tables were rather crowded.

Sally's wares were to the right - vinegar and soaps. Some of our products were displayed with hers. Starting from right, going around the tables to the left, here is how we set up our stall:

There were about 20 other stallholders in the park area (which is right next to the beach), and lots of potential customers came through to have a browse at our stall. Many people were interested in our items, but we only sold a few - Sally made more sales than we did. Nevertheless, it was very interesting and fun, especially being the first time we'd ever been stallholders at a market. It was good to have Sally with us because she has done many markets before and was very helpful in showing us how things are done.
Day Market on 28th December, 2024
A big part of selling at markets is how you present and display your items - do you have too many sheets of paper showing prices and describing things? Are there too many products squished onto one table, making it hard to see what is there at a glance? Is everything too busy - does the customer have enough choices but not too many? If there are products hanging from the gazebo, are they displayed well where the customer can notice them but not get slapped in the face when they bend over the tables? Did you know that when displaying an item that has multiples of the same thing, uneven numbers look best - display a pile of seven soaps, not six or eight? Are all the stuffed animals thrown together on one table and all the timber products piled on another, or are they spread out in an sensible but attractive manner?
Because of all this that we had learned from Sally, at the second market a week later, we decided to display fewer items so that the tables would be less crowded, thereby hopefully making it more attractive to customers.

Going around the stall from right to left again, here's how we set it up. Personally, I like the way we set up this stall better than the first one!

Some of the products you see here are not listed on our shop but will be soon - keep a lookout for them on our new arrivals page! And if you ever holiday in Agnes Water during school holidays, you may see us at the Handmade Markets!
